2012 N.B.A Draft Profiles: Andre Drummond
- Updated: June 3, 2012
N.B.A Position: PF/C
N.B.A Comparison: Dwight Howard/Amare Stoudemire
Measurements: 6 Feet 10 Inches; 250 Pounds; 7 Foot 5 Inch Wingspan
Andre Drummond is this year’s ultimate boom or bust pick. A very raw prospect but already has some great things in his arsenal. Elite athleticism, great size/NBA body, great basketball IQ, better than average shot blocker, fair passer from post, nice turnaround jumper from the post but, every other part of his game is why teams are going to be hesitant to draft his. He needs to work on his post game which, should be a little more refined with jump hooks running hooks etc., he could use better decision making handling double teams in the post, he’s not as dominate as he should be given his size and athletic ability. Even with such a risk factor, a lot of these problems are the same as what people saw in Dwight Howard coming into the N.B.A and if he can become something like that, some team will have found themselves what we call a steal.
