Rams QB Sam Bradford out for season with torn ACL

ST. LOUIS - The Rams’ worst nightmare have just come true. According to a report by Pro Football Talk, St. Louis Rams quarterback Sam Bradford has tore his ACL in the Rams 30-15 loss to the Carolina Panthers.

Bradford left the game with 5:27 left in the fourth quarter after scrambling out of bounds and landing awkwardly. He did not return for the rest of the game. ACL tears usually take about nine months to recover from according to Dr. Ben Wedro. The team initially feared Bradford tore his ACL after the game and sent him to undergo an MRI right away.

The Rams are already looking for replacements for Bradford, but it will be hard for the Rams to replace his production. He has 1,432 passing yards, 13 touchdown passes and three interceptions on the year. Kellen Clemens is currently the only other quarterback on the market. There has been speculation that the Rams would go after former Broncos quarterback Tim Tebow, but according to Michael Silver, its not likely the Rams will sign the former Heisman trophy winner.

Other current free agent quarterbacks include Matt Leinart, Jordan Palmer, Tyler Thigpen, Vince Young, JaMarcus Russell, John Skelton, Pat White and Trent Edwards. A press conference about Bradford’s injury is scheduled for tomorrow.
