Bears’ Henry Melton arrested Saturday night

Only in the NFL could a crazy story like this happen. Bears defensive tackle Henry Melton, who is out for the season with a torn ACL and on injured reserve, was arrested Saturday night after he was involved in an altercation with a bartender at Chill Sports Bar and Grill.

Michael C. Wright of ESPN Chicago first broke the story, and includes that Melton was charged with assault and public intoxication. As details emerge on the incident, many are saying that Melton wasn’t at fault, and he was jumped.

This is certainly a story of the crazy, and one that will likely have an impact on Melton’s playing status in 2014. Melton is set to become a free agent after this season, and depending on how this case plays out, could have some trouble signing with a team. If in fact he was innocent and attacked, it may not be too difficult to find a job.
