VIDEO: Duke commit Jahlil Okafor with one-handed poster slam

Jahlil Okafor

While everyone currently attending Duke was mourning their stunning loss in the NCAA Tournament to the Mercer Bears, a future Duke Blue Devil was making headlines of his own. #1 player in the country Jahlil Okafor, a 6’11” center out of Whitney Young High School in Chicago had a ridiculous one-handed poster dunk that should cheer up Coach K.

Cheer up Coach K, Jahlil Okafor is on the way.

Couple of tidbits from this game as well: Okafor is a really close friend to Jabari Parker and there were reports that Parker could return to Duke next season to play alongside his friend. With the early loss in the tournament, many expect Parker to head for the NBA Draft, but Okafor’s arrival holds some weight.

Also in this game: Jalen Brunson of Stevenson High School (who Okafor and Whitney Young defeated) broke a state tournament single-game record with 56 points, in which he also had zero turnovers committed.

Brunson then started an internet stir when there was a still photo captured of him appearing to give a double bird to the crowd.

The IHSA is meeting on Saturday to determine if Brunson will be suspended for Steveson’s third place game. Brunson has since denied giving the bird.

A crazy and wild game between two of the top basketball prospects in Illinois, but the poster slam of Jahlil Okafor should make fans at Cameron Indoors excited for next season.
