Sixers’ Arnett Moultrie suspended for violating NBA’s drug policy

Life just doesn’t get any easier for Philadelphia 76ers fans. The NBA announced on Monday morning that Sixers forward Arnett Moultrie has been suspended five games for violating the league’s drug policy.

The five game ban is set for players who violate marijuana use, but it’s not for first-time offenders.

It’s just another hit in the disappointing season and young career of Moultrie who was recently sent down to the Sixers D-League affiliate, the 87ers. Playing on a team that had lost an NBA-record tying 26 straight losses, and failing to get any production means Moultrie could, and should be labeled an early bust.

In his second season in the NBA, the 6’10″ power forward averaged 3 points per game and 2.9 rebounds in 15.6 minutes per game.
