Tigers acquire David Price in blockbuster deal


The Detroit Tigers have made the big blockbuster trade of the deadline. David Price of the Tampa Bay Rays has been sent to Detroit, in a deal that was first reported by Ken Rosenthal of FOX Sports.

Jon Heyman of CBS Sports reporting that the Tigers and Mariners are the two teams in the trade with Tampa Bay. In exchange for Price, the Tigers will send outfielder Austin Jackson and starting pitcher Drew Smyly to Tampa Bay. The Mariners will send prospect Nick Franklin to the Rays as well.

Ken Rosenthal reports that Jackson will be flipped from Tampa Bay to Seattle.

As of now, these are the details for a David Price trade:

Detroit Tigers receive: David Price

Seattle Mariners receive: Austin Jackson

Tampa Bay Rays receive: Drew Smyly,  Nick Franklin, Willy Adames

Ken Rosenthal of FOX Sports includes that the Tigers are sending Willy Adames to Tampa Bay.
