Jets release WR Stephen Hill

The New York Jets are parting ways with a pick that simply never panned out at the wide receiver position. According to Bob Glauber of Newsday, the Jets have decided to release 2012 second-round pick wide receiver Stephen Hill.

In 23 career games, Hill compiled 45 catches for 594 yards, and four touchdowns. While the Jets were in need of a true primary receiver in 2013, Hill never rose to the challenge.

Hill struggled to make an impact during the 2014 season and saw his position on the depth chart fall after the team signed Eric Decker to a contract this off-season.

Now free to sign with any team, Hill may have a hard time finding work quickly.
