NFL Draft: NFC East Draft Grades
- Updated: April 28, 2013
Philadelphia Eagles- A
Chip Kelly & the Eagles are on their way, I’m a huge fan of what they did this year in the draft. First off grabbing Lane Johnson was the key to their draft if you ask me, this kid is a future star a left tackle. Zach Ertz & Bennie Logan should be productive rookies for Chip Kelly & snagging Jordan Poyer in the 7th round is a complete steal he’ll be able to help out in nickel packages right away. Of course everyone knows they took Matt Barkley in the 4th round I think it’s a great fit, he’ll be able to sit for a year learn & develop I love the Eagles draft class this year.
New York Giants- B
I came away more impressed with what the Giants added on their defensive line but question taking Justin Pugh in the first. Not because of his short arms but because I had a late second round grade on him & think they could’ve gotten him there. However, I love the Hankins & Moore picks I think Damontre Moore is going to he a stud in that system & Hankins gives the, a big body defensive tackle to plug up the middle. I like that they took Nassib they’d be able to flip him for picks down the round but they didn’t address their need for a corner which I think was a mistake.
Dallas Cowboys- C-
Once again Jerry Jones leaves me scratching my head, I don’t disagree with drafting Travis Frederick but they could’ve taken Tyler Eifert in the first & still gotten Frederick in the second so they got a D for that. What saved this draft in my opinion were their mid-round selections Terence Williams, JJ Wilcox & Joseph Randle will probably all contrite this year for the Cowboys., in my opinion Wilcox will end up being the best out of this class.
Washington Redskins- B+
I really liked what the Redskins did this year. Knowing they didn’t have a first round pick, the Redskins took David Amerson in the 2nd a guy with first round talent & amazing ball skills. The Redskins struggled in the back-end last year so they added Amerson & two safeties in Phillip Thomas & Baccari Rambo, I’ve been big on Thomas I think he’s going to be a stud. Tight end Jordan Reed gives RG3 a young athletic tight end to grow with & Brandon Jenkins could be a huge steal if he can return to form.
