Colts Take Down 49′ers On The Road.
- Updated: September 22, 2013
Andrew Luck and the Colts went out west to face Colin Kapernick and the 49′ers and dominated the game winning 27-7. This was the first matchup between Luck and his former head coach Jim Harbaugh at Stanford.
Newly acquired RB Trent Richardson scored on a 1 yard touchdown run on his first carry as a Colt. Richardson finished the game with 13 carries for 35 yards and 1 touchdown. Ahmad Bradshaw led the Colts though with 19 carries for 95 yards and a touchdown. Frank Gore led the 49′ers 11 carries for 82 yards.
Neither Luck or Kapernick had an outstanding game as both QB’s threw less than 165 yards today. Kapernick was 13-27 for 150 yards and 1 interception. Luck was 18-27 for 164 yards. Turnovers hurt the 49′ers today as they had 2 (interception and fumble) and the Colts had no turnovers today.
The 49′ers offense has struggled the last 2 weeks against the Colts and Seahawks scoring only a combined 10 points. They have been outscored 56-10. The defense is going to take a hit as star Aldon Smith has been suspended suspended by the 49′ers after getting a DUI and cops finding drugs in his car early Friday morning. This was his 2nd arrest for DUI. Team President said that he will be suspended indefinitely. Smith’s locker was cleaned out after today’s loss to the Colts.
The Colts (2-1) will be at the Jags next week. The 49′ers (1-2) will have a short week and play Thursday night at the St. Louis Rams.
