Mike D’Antoni Says He Trust Kobe Guarding Westbrook Tonight
- Updated: December 13, 2013
After the Lakers received news that Steve Blake would be out six weeks, Lakers head coach Mike D’Antoni decided to name Kobe Bryant his emergency point guard. There will be no time for Kobe to ease in his new role as he faces Russell Westbrook tonight in Oklahoma City.
Kobe has only been back for two games and he’s still trying to get his rhythm back. Instead of hiding the aging Kobe on Thabo Sefolosha, D’Antoni is confident in he’s ability to defend the lighting quick Westbrook.
Kobe will start defensively against Russell Westbrook. D'Antoni: "I trust Kobe…"
