NFL Fantasy Football Week 2 - Ride or Pine

The Standard Intro

Week 2 of the NFL is set to kick off in less than 48 hours and the only thing missing is yet another fantasy advice column.  Be that as it may, I’ll cover at least 5 guys who I think you should ride with and 5 who should be collecting blisters on the pine.  I’m not perfect, I’ll surely have bad advice at times, but over 14 years of playing this game I’ve learned some things that will benefit you all along your path to the title.  So hang with me and send me your thoughts, I am always happy to lend an ear.

Ride em’

Josh Freeman, Buccaneers QB - If you own him, feel free to play him.  This doesn’t mean bench Peyton or Brees, but it does mean I like him more than some Tier 2 QB guys.  The Saints have picked up their defense with the addition of Rob Ryan, but its a division game and you can still score on this team.

Larry Fitzgerald, Cardinals WR - He goes against a Lions teams that shut down Minnesota’s passing game.  2 things, Christian Ponder didn’t get traded to the Cardinals and Larry Fitzgerald is better than all the Vikings receivers.  Big day ahead for Fitz.

Matt Forte, Bears RB - Reggie Bush torched the Vikings defense in Week 1.  Expect Chicago to work Forte just like the Lions did Bush.  A perfect mix and match of carries and catches, superb play for PPR leagues.

Jordan Cameron, Browns TE - If you don’t know, now you know.  Julius Thomas broke on the scene against these same Ravens in Week 1.  Weeden isn’t Peyton, but any QB can hit a wide open freakishly large athlete down the seam.

Steven Jackson, Falcons RB - The Cardinals backs ran for 86 yards on 26 carries against the Rams in Week 1.  The Falcons will need Jackson to be on with Roddy White hobbled and now Julio Jones questionable.

Pine em’

Steelers RB’s - They all stay here until they prove otherwise.

Dez Bryant, Cowboys WR - Don’t really bench him, just hamper your expectations.  Chiefs have a great secondary and Bryant is bothered with an ankle injury.

Marques Colston, Saints WR - Welcome to Revis Island.  There has been some renovations since the last time you visited, but we’re working our hardest to get back to what you remember on your last stay.

Frank Gore, 49ers RB -  They say the heart will prevail in battle, but I don’t know if they knew just how good the Seahawks defense was.

Owen Daniels, Texans TE - You got me last week Mr. Daniels, but both you and I know it was a fluke.  You won’t be stealing Fosters touchdowns forever.  You sit here and think about what you did.
