Andrew Wiggins to Declare for NBA Draft
- Updated: March 30, 2014
Andrew Wiggins has set up a press conference tomorrow, March 31st, to officially announce that he is leaving Kansas to enter the 2014 NBA Draft. Wiggins is expected to be a top-3 pick in the draft. This news was first reported by Kurt Helin of NBC Sports.
Andrew Wiggins is one of the most hyped up players that college basketball has seen in years. He showed NBA scouts all year what he is capable of by averaging 17.1 points and 5.9 rebounds per game at Kansas. Wiggins was the Big 12 freshman of the year and made first-team all-conference as well.
After Kansas was unexpectedly defeated by Stanford, it is not too surprising that Wiggins has decided to leave the Jayhawks basketball team after only one year. Maybe the situation would have been a little different if Kansas had made a deeper run in the tournament. Coming into Kansas, many people figured Wiggins to have a one-and-done career there anyway.
Andrew Wiggins is a phenomenal player and will help whichever NBA organization drafts him. He is no-doubtably a top-3 pick in the upcoming draft. Expect him to have an impressive rookie season and have continued success in his career in the NBA.
