Nick Young re-signs with Lakers

On the day where the chips are beginning to fall in NBA free agency, the Los Angeles Lakers are bringing back one of their own. ESPN’s Jeff Goodman reported that the Lakers and free agent guard Nick Young have agreed on a deal that will bring Young back to Los Angeles.

Last season Nick Young averaged 17.9 points, 2.6 rebounds, and 1.5 assists per game. Young saw his points per game average rise tremendously, from 12.2 to 17.9, as he filled in place of an injured Kobe Bryant.

The Lakers also made a trade with the Houston Rockets to acquire point guard Jeremy Lin on Friday.

TNT’s David Aldridge is reporting that Young’s deal is four years, worth $21.5 million, with a fourth year player-option.
