- Updated: June 21, 2014
US Women’s soccer star and Olympic gold medalist Hope Solo has been arrested is being held without bail on two-counts of domestic-violence assault at the South Correctional Entity Regional Jail, in Des Moines, Washington. The arrest was reported by USA Today, which states that Solo struck her sister and nephew at her home in Kirkland, Washington.
The injuries to both Solo’s sister and nephew are “visible injuries” according to a report from The Seattle Times. Kirkland police LT. Mike Murray, told the Seattle Times that officers were called to Solo’s home because of an assault and noise disturbance.
“There was a big party going on at her house. It was an out-of-control situation,”
Solo, the current goalkeeper for Seattle Reign FC is listed as “Hope Ameila Stevens” in the county jail registry.
This isn’t the first assault case surrounding Solo and her husband, former NFL player, Jerramy Stevens. In November 2012, Stevens reportedly assaulted Solo, which police needed to use a stun gun to break up the fight, and just hours later, the couple went on to get married.
