Chiefs’ RB Jamaal Charles carted off field during practice
- Updated: August 12, 2013
In a pre-season full of injuries, ProFootballTalk.com is reporting that Kansas City Chiefs’ running back Jamaal Charles has been carted off the field during practice on Monday. The report first came from Adam Teicher of the Kansas City Star, and it brings concern to Charles and the Chiefs as Charles is just a year returned from a torn ACL in 2011.

With Andy Reid as the new Chiefs head coach, Charles was expected to see a bulk of plays during the regular season both as a running back and receiver out of the backfield. While the extent of Charles’ injury is unknown at the present time, when a cart is brought onto the field, there is certainly room for concern.
As the Kansas City Chiefs look to rebound with new talent on their roster including No. 1 overall pick, right tackle Eric Fisher and quarterback Alex Smith a loss of their star running back will certainly hinder their chances.
For Chiefs fans, Andy Reid, and Jamaal Charles the hopes of a non-serious injury are very serious. During their week one pre-season loss to the New Orleans Saints, Charles had five carries for 13 yards, and one touchdown as well as three receptions for 27 yards.
