Chris Johnson to undergo surgery on torn meniscus
- Updated: January 27, 2014
Tennessee Titans running back Chris Johnson definitely under-performed this year, and now we might have a reason as to why. Johnson told Jim Wyatt of the Tennessean that he will undergo surgery for a torn meniscus that he played through for nearly all of the 2013-14 season.

While Johnson started and played through all 16 games this season, he averaged a career-worst 3.9 yards per carry, while rushing for 1,077 yards and six touchdowns. The 28-year old running back is set to make $8 million next season and previous reports have stated that the Titans are expected to ask Johnson to take a paycut, and if he refuses, they will likely release him.
Johnson may not have to just worry about rehabbing his knee, but finding a new team as well.
