Bryan Caraway Out Of UFC 170 With Injury
- Updated: January 28, 2014
LAS VEGAS — The UFC officially announced Tuesday that UFC bantamweight fighter Bryan Caraway has been removed from UFC 170 February 22 in his bout against Lucas Martins. An undisclosed injury will sideline Caraway from his upcoming fight.
Coming on short notice, the UFC also announced they are looking for a replacement opponent for Martins to still fight at UFC 170 later next month.
While ranked 13th in the UFC bantamweight division for title contention, Caraway took a step back in his personal career to help out girlfriend and fellow UFC fighter Miesha Tate. He helped coach with Tate on season 18 of The Ultimate Fighter, and also helped Tate train for her title shot at UFC 168 last December against rival Ronda Rousey. His last fight was a submission victory over Johnny Bedford at UFC 159 in April 2013.
The former competitor on The Ultimate Fighter is 18-7 in his career and 3-1 in the UFC.
