Colts’ RB Ahmad Bradshaw to undergo season-ending neck surgery

Bradshaw's season with the Colts is over.

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind.- Running back Ahmad Bradshaw’s season has ended, as he was placed on injured reserve by the Indianapolis Colts today and will undergo neck surgery, according to ProFootballTalk.com.

Bradshaw was picked up by the team as a free agent back in June. He was signed to a one-year deal, in an effort to bulk up New England’s run game.

In his three games with the team, Bradshaw was able to get in the end zone twice, while rushing for 186 total yards.

Following the injury to his neck, suffered in the team’s game against the San Francisco 49ers, the Colts had announced they would wait two weeks to see if rest and rehabilitation could be the fix. With the close of this two-week deadline came the decision to place Bradshaw on the IR.

Bradshaw, who spent his first six seasons in the NFL with the New York Giants, is no stranger to injuries. He struggled during the 2012 season with injuries to both his knee and foot, but only missed two regular season games.
