Week 5 FA and Waiver Wire Adds
- Updated: October 1, 2013
One of the best ways to stay competitive in your league is to scour the free agent market and waiver wire. Most players listed here are for 10 and 12 team leagues, 14 teamer’s usually have slim pickens.
Here’s your week 5 top waiver grabs:
Robert Woods, BUF WR - I mentioned him in the Fantasy Hangover column this week and now would be the time to grab him. He’ll have some ups and downs still since he is technically the #2 guy, but the chemistry with his QB is undeniable.
Jeremy Kerley, NYJ WR- Nothing spectacular about Kerley. He is a solid slot receiver who could see some extra targets this week with Holmes and Hill ailing.
Rashad Jennings, OAK RB - He’s failed at the job once, which was last year filling in for MJD. This one is more of a handcuff option for McFadden owners or for bye week players looking to fill a flex spot. If McFadden is out, Jennings will get his touches and looks as Marcell Reece is expected to miss week 5′s match up against the Chargers.
Tashard Choice, BUF RB - Word is both CJ Spiller and Fred Jackson are going to give it a go, but both have injuries that could sideline them quickly Thursday night. Choice will probably see work with them available to keep them fresh, but if either goes down he will see an uptick in snaps.
Terrance Williams,DAL WR - It all depends on the status of Miles Austin, but Williams showed he could be productive along side Dez Bryant. Aside an untimely fumble from the rookie, Williams saw 8 targets and totaled 71 yards on the day.
Roy Helu, WSH RB - I’m adding him here, but unless you have the spot I wouldn’t suggest dropping anyone to get him. The Redskins are on a bye this coming week and Alfred Morris is expected to be ready for week 6.
LeGarrette Blount, NE RB - Total crap shoot in the Patriots backfield. Might as well take a chance on a guy who has seen an average of 8 carries through the first 4 games of the season.
Saints D/ST, Browns D/ST, Chargers D/ST (If Flynn starts) - Sneaky good potential defensive fillers.
Brian Hoyer CLE, Ryan Tannehill MIA - Bye Week QB fillers
Some other guys you might want to take a flier on if available - Andre Roberts ARZ WR, Jordan Reed WSH TE, Donnie Avery KC WR, Robert Meachem NO WR, Mohamed Sanu CIN WR, Kenny Stills NO WR.
